About Me:

I grew up in Guildford, where I attended the local feeder school for the Grammar School. It did not come very easily for me. I was regularly being picked up early or ending up in the medical bay because I could not cope.

A pivotal moment for me came when I was diagnosed with dyslexia and subsequently enrolled in Moon Hall Specialist School. This meant that I was finally taught in a way I could manage and understand, and I was given the tools and skills to keep going in education once my time at Moon Hall ended.

In total I have been to 9 different places of education, and looking back, without Moon Hall I would not have made it to most of them. The 9th was Brighton University, where I studied Product Design Technology. I have always loved engineering, but never been a white collar engineer, my brain does not work that way. I am more of a creative back street mechanic.

Over my career so far I have worked at a few very different places. First I was a Design Engineer and Infrastructure Project Manager at Dyson, Technical Manager at Dorothea Restorations and Senior Project Manager at Renishaw. These 3 different places influence my writing and the Thomon world I created.

My remaining time is spent with my wife and three kids in the south West of England where we have lived since 2010. We attend a church there and are involved in different areas of the community. The little time left over is spent on personal projects such as working on cars, building fences and gates and writing books.

I started writing in 2018 when I was closing down a personal side business, and wanted to do something that would cheer myself up. This marked the beginning of my 5 year journey to write the Makers Of Magic - The Four Winds. The story is a reflection of my experience in education, and deep-rooted fascination with the mystical, with engineering and with the power of imagination.
